LEATHER CHEMICALS INVENTORY HUB

Control of information on substances and mixtures

LEATHER CHEMICALS INVENTORY is your centralized chemical inventory with all chemical information for substances and mixtures.
It goes into detail information for each mixture, provides specific information on each component, and allows only those you want to have access to your Safety Data Sheets and possibly sensitive analysis data available.

LEATHER CHEMICALS INVENTORY detects substances and components of mixtures included in the various lists and simplifies the identification of hazardous substances so you can control risks and maintain compliance with REACH regulations with a direct link to ECHA InfoCard and related documentation.

THE FLOW

The Brand, or LWG, asks the Tannery to have evidence that the products used are MRSL compliant.

The Tannery checks on the ZDHC Chemical Gateway if the products are present with the master data (and eventually the SDS), and if yes, it connects to the LEATHER CHEMICALS INVENTORY.

The Tannery is automatically put in contact with the Chemical Company through the connection with the LEATHER CHEMICALS INVENTORY, the Chemical Company evaluates the request and provides, if necessary, the access to the product information, deciding the quality level of the data for which to give evidence; the Chemical Company can also decide to refuse to give evidence of its data.

The Chemical Company can also choose to create a dedicated password for those users that it deems appropriate to grant a scheduled authorization.
The responsibility of what is uploaded in the LEATHER CHEMICALS INVENTORY database remains always with the Chemical Company, as it currently works for the ZDHC Chemical Gateway, but at least the Company itself can decide autonomously to make visible the data of its auxiliaries referring at the same time to the REACh compliance of its products, the only guarantee having legal value of the compliance of the chemical matrices used for the realization of the products with the obligations imposed by the European Regulation.

Effective management of Safety Data Sheets

  • Upload of incoming SDS (new or revised)
  • Automatic extraction of key data using ChemParser technology https://chemparser.com/
  • Updating the Chemical Inventory and storing obsolete SDSs in a separate folder to safeguard against future disputes
  • Create users and authorizations
  • Establish a workflow to approve, reject, validate and authorize access to SDSs
  • Monitor communications to the supply chain

Those authorized for consultation can:

  • perform chemical inventory searches by product name, CAS number;
  • verify hazard and precautionary statements; and
  • view the Safety Data Sheet;
  • download and print SDS only upon authorization.

In case access to additional sensitive data is required,
such as special analysis or advanced consultation of chemical information

  • Checking of all substances and mixtures used (by factory, department, supplier, by hazard classes, CLP categories, etc.).
  • Display of detailed data of the components of each mixture.
  • CAS number, EC number, Index, REACH registration number.
  • Relevant uses and uses advised against.
